The Valley Soccer teams are very well supported throughout the valley.

There is a good cricket team in the valley and they play on the Blaengarw and Pontycymer border.
The Pitch has been cut out of the mountain and looks very lush in the summer months despite the fact that we seem to get more than out fair share of rain.

The valley bowls teams can be seen here during a home game at Pontycymer bowls/tennis court complex.
This is a municipal playing area and is always kept in very good order.
